Saturday is probably my favourite day of the week. Market trips and when the seasons are on, Serie A and Premiership soccer. It may be blasphemous to some but I tend to be up earlier on the weekend so I can take advantage of the day. I popped out early this morning to grab a croissant and pain au chocolat and then came home to fix up a nice cappuccino to go with it. Fortunately it’s easy to get beans from Intelligentsia in this city. Some of the independent cafes pull their coffee and sell it for home use as well. I like Intelli’s Black Cat espresso blend for its rich, nutty, almost chocolatey notes and it drinks well on its own or in milk-based drinks. From time to time I will switch up Black Cat for B.C.’s Origins espresso which is also quite good. Matt over at Manic Coffee brings both types in (among others) weekly so freshly roasted beans are never far away.
